Please meet 35-year-old Shelk M. from Gbarnga, in Liberia. Gbarnga is located in the center of Liberia, in Bong County. The majority of people are employed as farmers, cultivating crops, such as rice, palm oil, and cassava.

Shelk M. completed 12 grades of school and he is married. His wife is a palm oil-seller. He has two children, aged ten and six. They are in school and they all live at home.

Shelk M. has a gas station. He has been in business for three years and he works 14 hours per day at his business, from Monday to Saturday. With this loan, he will buy more gasoline. Two of the greatest challenges that he faces are a shortage of gasoline and transportation costs. Shelk M. transports his gasoline by tanker.
