Mejumaa is 38 years old and is from Samburu, Mombasa, Kenya. She lives with her partner, Suleiman, who is an administrator. They live in their own home, and have three children. The children are school aged and are dependent on them.
Mejumaa has run a retail shop for over fifteen years, which is going very well. She says that she has a loyal customer base thanks to her excellent service. Additionally her shop is the best-stocked store in the neighborhood. This combination of factors means that she is enjoying lots of success.
She dreams of being able to continue to grow, so that she can earn enough to help her husband with the household expenses. She is requesting this loan to buy drinks, sugar, rice, flour and other items, as these are among the best-selling products. She is grateful for the help she is receiving, it will be very useful.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
