Dominga of Aurora, Zamboang del Sur is a 37 year old woman, married with two children. For three years, she has been earning PHP 5,000 monthly from her own sari sari store selling goods to her locality for a living. She is faithful in managing her business in order to support her husband.
In 2011, she became a member of GDMPC where she gains access to financial services. She has requested a loan amount of PHP 10,000 to purchase additional canned goods, bottled products and noodles for sale. She wants to use the additional revenue as working capital to gain multiple income.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
