A loan of $350 helped to buy a gas oven.

Rocio Del Pilar's story

Rocio is 35 years old and lives in the warm city of Pucallpa with its beautiful landscapes, its rich cuisine and, above all, its very friendly, kind inhabitants. Owing to limited financial resources, Rocio was only able to study up to the fifth year of her secondary education. However, she would have liked to have gone on to study for a degree in business management.

Every day Rocio works in her small business selling candies and sodas. She works around 9 hours a day as her hard work enables her to cover her household expenses. Rocio believes that she is making progress because, in spite of the difficulties she faces, she continues working hard and with a lot of enthusiasm.

Rocio is very grateful to Kiva lenders because, thanks to their help, she will be able to buy a gas oven (her current oven runs on kerosene). This will enable her to improve her quality of life and avoid accidents. She will continue working hard every day to make her biggest dream come true: "to have a wholesale business".
