A loan of $575 helped to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Cecilia's story

Cecilia, 45, is married and has a daughter; she lives with them in her own house. Cecilia works selling foodstuffs so she has a store at home where she tends to her customers kindly. She’d thought about opening a business for a long time but for lack of capital had been unable to do so. She therefore saved up and worked taking milk to other cities and with the profits she made started gradually to buy foodstuffs to stabilize the business. With the profits from the store and the extra income she manages to earn from selling cheese she hopes to continue making progress for her family’s well-being.

This is her first Kiva loan and she’s very grateful for the financial support she’ll get to continue with her work. On this occasion she’ll request 1,500 soles to buy food items like rice, sugar, canned fish, etc.
