Azucena's story

Azucena, 40, is a hardworking, enterprising woman in addition to being cheerful and sociable. She’s married to Enel who is employed and the father of their two children they love very much. They are comfortably installed in a house they own. The activity Azucena does is providing food for employees in various lumber yards in the zone. She started the business over a year ago with her own capital and to date works alone.

Seeing the good results she’s been having, she plans to go into another business that she deems profitable: clothing sales. This will be her fifth Kiva loan and she’s grateful for the financial support she gets to stay in business.

She will use the requested 2,500 soles to buy foodstuffs like rice, meat, vegetables and other products used to prepare the meals she caters to the workers who load the lumber drying ovens.
