A loan of $375 helped to buy sand and firewood to make bricks.

Lucila's story

Lucila, age 33, is married to Custodio. They have three children with whom they live in their own house. She has an artisan factory making bricks for building houses and similar constructions.

She used to live in the capital of her region, and her husband convinced her to continue his parents’ business in his area. She needs suitable sand to make the bricks. She gets it with the help of trucks from a local quarry. Later, with the help of workers, they shape the blocks and bake them. This way they get bricks that are ready to be used. She started six years ago. She has had good sales since she began because more houses are being built in her area.

This is her second loan with Kiva. She is grateful for the financial support she is getting so that she can continue with her work.

She wishes to have 1,000 soles to buy sand and firewood to make the bricks that she sells.
