The Diapando 5 Ndayane credit group is made up of five women who are all involved in the same type of activity. They all sell various retail products.

Ndèye Coumba, who is in her sixties, is like a mother to the other members of the group. She sells fruits and vegetables, dry and smoked fish, and also sometimes some fabrics. She has been involved in this activity for several years already.

Ndèye Coumba contributes to her family's daily expenses and is able to help her husband with her earnings. She would like to have a stall and to be financially self-sufficient.

Le groupe de crédit Diapando 5 Ndayane regroupe cinq femmes qui évoluent dans le même secteur d’activité. Elles font du commerce de tout genre.
La dame Ndèye Coumba âgée de la soixantaine représente presque leur mère de par son âge. Elle fait du commerce de fruits et légumes, de poisson séchés et fumés et aussi dès fois de tissus. Elle le fait depuis plusieurs années déjà.
Elle participe à la dépense quotidienne de la famille en appuyant son époux avec les bénéfices reçus de l’activité. Elle désire avoir une cantine et autosuffisance financièrement.

This loan is administered by UIMCEC, a Kiva Field Partner in Senegal since 2008. UIMCEC is a government-regulated microfinance institution whose mission is to improve the revenue and well-being of families through access to financial services, allowing principally women and young adult micro-entrepreneurs living in rural and semi-rural areas to develop their revenue-generating businesses and supporting them in becoming financially self-sufficient.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
