Ines's story

Inés, 48, is married and has a 12-year-old son. She lives in her own house with her family members. Her work consists primarily in selling food. She has her stand in a market in the city and she offers delicious regional dishes like grilled fish, sausages, chicken and others that are characteristic of Peruvian cuisine there every day. Her work starts very early and ends at about 3 in the afternoon. She’s been in business 8 years with her husband’s unconditional support.

What she likes about her work is that she works doing what has fascinated her since she was very little; she always cooked and now she puts it into practice as a business opportunity. In addition, this work earns good income that she can use to cover household expenses and provide comfort for her family.

On this occasion, she’ll request 3,500 soles and she’s very happy for the financial support she’ll get to continue in business. She will use the requested amount to progressively buy all the ingredients and supplies like oil, rice, vegetables, tubers, condiments, meats and others she uses to prepare her meals.
