Honduras
San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras / Food Production/Sales

A loan of $925 helped to buy corn flour to make tortillas, and to buy second hand items for resale.

Maria Antonia's story

María is 52 years old and lives with her husband, with whom she has three children. She lives in a neighbourhood of San Pedro Sula. For five years, María has had her own business selling tortillas, and she earns additional income collecting plastic, iron, copper and other items which she sells to a recycling company. She has decided to request a second loan from ODEF for 17,500 Lempiras to buy corn flour to make tortillas, and to buy second hand items for resale. Her goal is to increase the amount of tortillas she produces and to continue with her business of buying and selling recyclable items, so that she can earn the income she needs to improve her home and living conditions.
