A loan of $825 helped a member to purchase a variety of cloth to sell.

Shehnaz's Group's story

Shehnaz is a 53-year-old married woman. She is an enterprising woman with many dreams to fulfill. She lives in the area of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She has been in the business of cloth selling for almost 7 years. She purchases cloth from different areas and sells in the main market for profit.

Shehnaz is the responsible mother of three children. Her husband makes his living as a daily worker whose income is not sufficient to meet the needs of the family members. She faced many problems in her early married life - there were often days when her children slept without having any food. But now her contribution to the family income is playing a vital role in fulfilling the needs of the family.

To cope with increasing demand during the summer season, Shehnaz has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase a variety of cloth in different colors. She is a member of a two-person group. She hopes to get an increase in her net income and wishes to spend part of her profits on the improvement of her house. She is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.
