A loan of $625 helped to increase livestock headcount by buying small livestock.

Elmira's story

Elmira is 42 years old and raising four children. To provide the primary source of income for her family, Elmira is involved in animal husbandry, having started this business 16 years ago with a purchase of livestock for 9,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Elmira's persistent work, today her business yields about 5,000 - 7,000 som (KGS) per month. In order to further develop her business, Elmira requested a loan in the amount of 30,000 som (KGS) from the micro-finance bank "Bai-Tushum and Partners" to increase livestock headcount by buying small livestock. She plans to invest the earnings from the loan into a further increase of domestic livestock quantities and to begin construction of a home for her family in the near future.
