A loan of $225 helped to purchase cosmetic products for her beauty salon.

Afshan's story

Afshan is a 37-year-old, hard-working, and diligent woman. She lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, along her husband, two daughters, and two sons. Her husband is a government employee, but his income is insufficient to meet the household expenses. Both of her children are studying in government schools.

Afshan is an efficient beautician, by profession. Since 2004, she has been operating her own beauty salon. Currently, the beauty stock of the salon is almost finished, therefore Afshan wants to purchase cosmetic products to continue her business.

For that purpose, she has requested a loan from Kiva's partner, BRAC Pakistan, to purchase beauty products, like facial creams, lipsticks, scrubs, makeup kits, hair colors, and some other varieties of products. She would also buy some new chairs for her salon.

With the profit amount, she will pay the installments of the loan and school fees for her children. She dreams to live a happy, healthy, and peaceful life with her family. She is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan for their support.
