A loan of $375 helped to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Mireli's story

Mireli, 45, is married to Homero with whom she has six children but only one of them who is 14-years-old still lives with her. Mireli’s work starts very early when she opens her store.

She has an establishment built at home where she sells all types of foodstuffs like rice, bread, salt, sugar, vegetables, tea, milk, eggs and others. She lives in a very crowded neighborhood which means good sales throughout the day. She also has another sales point in one of the city’s main markets that she bought from the merchants association after many years of constant saving. She does the same kind of work there treating her customers very well. She’s been in this line of work for four years and works with her husband’s help. What she likes about this work is that it’s tied to sales and she’s always considered herself to be a good merchant. In addition, thanks to the number of customers she has managed to secure over the years she sells much and therefore earns good profits.

On this occasion she will request 1,000 soles and she’s very excited to know that there are people who provide economic back-up to continue developing her activity; she also commits to be a very punctual member. She will use the requested amount to buy more merchandise like vegetables, two sacks of rice, oil in liter containers and sugar.
