A loan of $675 helped to buy tires and insurance for her mototaxi.

Lais's story

Lais, 21, is a young entrepreneur. Although still single, she has a one-year-old son and she lives in her parents’ house. Lais’ work consists in leasing out public transportation vehicles. She has a mototaxi that she leases daily to a driver who comes by her house to request his work tool. She gets paid for providing this service and the profits she earns allow her to cover her home’s basic daily needs. Sometimes it’s one of her brothers who drives the vehicle. She’s been in this work for nearly a year because she needed to have another economic activity to cover her baby’s needs. Occasionally she sells clothes.

What she likes about her work is that she can spend time with her family and devote herself to her baby's care. Also, she enjoys being able to generate income to face needs day to day at home. She’s been doing well to date and hopes to continue that way so her fleet of vehicles will increase.

On this occasion, she’ll ask for 1,800 soles and she’s very happy to know that she’ll have financial support because she’ll feel sure of making progress with her business this way. She commits to make her installment payments punctually. She will use the requested amount to buy insurance for her mototaxi and to replace the rear tires.
