Carmen's story

Carmen, 29, is a young, friendly and charismatic woman and mother of two young children. She lives with her parents along with her young children and her partner. Like all mothers, she wants the best for her children and she works hard every day in order to succeed.

Carmen's main work is selling regional fruit and vegetables. Depending on the season, she sells bananas, yucca, lemons, cocona and other foods of animal origin, like dried fish and wild animal meat like deer, tortoises and field hens. She has a stall in a very crowded market in the city and works there in the mornings, in the afternoons and on rainy days she works in her home where she has set up scaffolding to display her products.

She has been doing this job for 15 years, and works particularly hard when there is a festival or important event in the city, luckily her work generates good economic income and gives her emotional peace. Her favourite thing about her job is the customer contact, it gives her vitality and lots of energy to be constantly active and above all she is happy that she can generate her own economic income. On this occasion she is asking for 1500 PEN, and she is grateful for the opportunity that she is being offered so that she can put her working plans into action. With the amount requested, she will buy wholesale bananas, oranges, and other regional products to be able to continue working.
