Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Sayda's story

Sayda, 34, is a young, kind woman with dreams. She’s married to Fidel and she has a little three-year-old daughter; they all live together in their own house.

Sayda’s work consists in selling shoes, sandals, slippers and articles of clothing. She works selling among her friends, neighbors and family members. She started two years ago and is doing very well.

She sells for cash or on credit and collects payments weekly. She feels very good in her work activity because it generates good income but she needs some additional help for the upcoming sales campaign.

On this occasion she’ll request 3,000 soles and she’s very excited about the financial support she’ll get to continue with her work. She will use the requested amount to buy shoes, sandals and slippers for her customers.
