A loan of $1,000 helped to buy 5 bags of seed, 20 quintals of manure, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.

Ángela De Jesús's story

Angela is 41 years old, she has a partner and five children. She has been working in agriculture since she was a child; it was her father who taught her and her brothers to work hard to bring money home. Today, in addition to working in agriculture with her life partner, she also makes and sells pupusas at a school. She gets household and production supplies in a city about 25 kilometers from her home; due to the transportation shortage, she has to wait for hours for a bus to come by. The loan she is requesting from Fundacion Campo is to buy 5 bags of seed, 20 quintals (1 quintal = 100 pounds) of manure, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. With this investment, she can buy all the supplies at once, saving herself a lot of travel, especially with the difficulty of transportation where she lives. Her intention is to continue working, and for her children to study to be professionals.
