Godfrey, 32, is a married man with three children in primary school. He lives in Kasambya-Kyotera community with his family. He was able to buy a plot of land in Kyotera with his earnings.

Godfrey is a teacher in a secondary school. Since 2009 he also has run a grocery shop, selling to neighbors in his community. He opened his small shop because he didn’t have enough money to start a bigger business and it’s easier to monitor it while teaching. Mwebe works twelve hours a day, seven days a week. One of his biggest challenges is his customers’ late credit payments.

Godfrey is applying for this 1,200,000 UGX loan through UGAFODE to buy additional stock for his shop. He hopes to expand it and then build rentals if his business does well enough.

Godfrey describes himself as a honest man. He would like to see lenders increase the size of their loans to clients.
