A loan of $3,175 helped a member to increase the stock of fish.

Mt Usambara Group's story

Salome, who is in her early 30s, is married with one daughter who goes to school. She has been selling fried fish for four years now. She wakes up early at 4.00 am in order to collect fresh fish and comes back to fry the fish at around 10.00 am. She sells her fish up to 9.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Salome's first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She wants to use it to increase her stock of fish. Her dream is to one day be able to own a Hotel.

Salome will share this loan with her loan group "Mt Usambara" with ten members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
