Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $500 helped to buy bunches of plantains and bags of cocoyams.

Grace's story

Grace is 42 years old and the mother of 6 children. All her children are currently in school. Grace treks to the nearby villages to buy her products and retails them in Kumasi, where she has good sales and gets additional income to support her family. She wants to buy more farm products to avoid price hikes as the country enters the farming season. She wants to use the loan to buy plantains and cocoyams. Grace is a member of the group called Isaiah. Members agree to guarantee for each other as a form of social collateral in order to repay the loan.
