A loan of $700 helped a member to buy meat, vegetables, flour, eggs and other items.

Jovenes Emprendedores Group's story

The group known as "Jovenes Emprendedores" (Enterprising Youth) are in their fifth loan cycle in the youth group program. They are four young people who came together so that they could work jointly, and generate a bit of of income to be able to help their families and feel useful.

Karina is one of the members and is the chair of the group. She sells food with her mom and also goes to school. Through her effort to succeed, she has managed to improve her quality of life. With her income from her street vending, she has paid for her expenses and her studies.

She receives on-going assistance, attends the group meetings, works supportively with her co-members, and maintains a good payment record with her group. They have the hope of someday being successful professionals.

Karen is requesting this loan to increase her sales, as she needs meat, vegetables, flour, eggs and other items to enable her to keep making and selling her meals.

In this group: Karina, Alexis, Carline, Rosa
