A loan of $1,500 helped to make improvements to her home.

Deycy Mayra's story

Deycy is 27 years old and lives in the city of Camana with her parents and siblings. She is very friendly, hard-working and enthusiastic, and has a great desire to move ahead in life. Unfortunately, due to a lack of money, and because she had to work from a young age, Deycy was not able to study business at university as she had wanted. In her spare time Deycy likes to watch films and, on occasion, prepare a delicious "chupe de camarones" (prawn soup) to share with her family.

With her own initiative and with a lot of determination and dedication, Deycy has a small business selling beauty products and costume jewellery. She works every day for around ten hours each day. She thinks the business is going well because of the good prices and because of the friendly treatment to gives to others.

Deycy is very grateful to Kiva lenders as, thanks to this loan, she will be able to make improvements to her home. She needs to put primer on and paint the front of her home. With this Deycy and her family will have a suitable and safe home and Deycy will continue working and putting in the effort to achieve her great dream of becoming a professional.
