Rosas Rojas (Paute) Group's story

The "Rosas Rojas" communal bank has nine members who have different businesses but the same goals: to overcome personal and family problems. They are proud to continue their parents' traditions and cultures. The group's members live around the Paute canton, which has an exceptional climate. The land is fertile and here the locals harvest the most delicious fruits and beautiful flowers. The region's geography gives us some of the most beautiful countryside.

One member of this group is Blanca. A founding members of "Rosas Rojas", she is now president of the group.

Blanca is 39 years old, married and living with her partner, with whom she has three children - aged 22, 17, and six years old. The oldest is married and independent while her second child is studying and working to cover his personal costs. Blanca's daughter, the youngest, is in one of the local schools.

Blanca is dedicated to her home but she also supports the household financially, making a living doing work in fields growing vegetables. She sells her products out of her home and at the market. Blanca also raises young bulls, pigs, guinea pigs and hens. Six months ago she started a shop and works there every day with no fixed timetable.

This loan will be used to buy supplies for her shop.

Blanca's goal is to expand the business.
