PUCALLPA, Peru / Used Clothing

A loan of $200 helped to buy second-hand clothing at wholesale.

Rosa's story

Rosa, 21, is a kind, good woman married to Juan, 23, with whom she has two little ones; they all live together in a house that’s theirs. Rosa’s work consists in selling second-hand clothes and in order to sell and earn good profits she goes to nearby towns and settlements where she sells or trades clothes with the inhabitants. She wants to continue working to make progress and later on sell new clothes to continue developing in business.

This will be her first Kiva loan and she’s very happy to know that she’ll have financial support that will make it possible for her to increase her investment. On the other hand, she commits to make her payments punctually. She will use the requested 500 soles to buy more clothes to continue with her sales; she will also buy some products that have been ordered in some of the settlements she visits.
