A loan of $1,075 helped to buy fertilizers and manure for her coffee crops.

Maria Deysi's story

María is a 27-year young woman and mother of 2 children who depend on her and her partner for everything. The older one is in primary school and the younger one in kindergarten. She has a primary level education, but did not complete it. She was able to study until 3rd grade, but was not able to continue due to the lack of economic support.

She has a lot of experience working in agriculture, since her parents taught her from a young age to work the land where coffee is grown. Her customers are the different buyers that come to the area, and also the grocery stores in the urban area where her product is sold directly.

The lands that she and her partner farm are their own, thanks to inheritances from her parents and her in-laws. The lands are located a distance of 800 meters from their residence, and they travel there everyday on foot in order to tend to and maintain the crop.

Today, she is applying for assistance for the purchase of manure and fertilizers for the maintenance of her crops, since with this assistance, she will be able to protect her coffee crops to make them safer from infestations and other things.

Her dream is to improve her crop day by day, and increase her harvests a bit in terms of variety and quality. Her children, their studies and other needs that arise daily are her greatest priority to get her family ahead.
