Agnes M.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva, based in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you this group of school teachers from the township of Lunsar, in northern Sierra Leone. They have come to SMT to apply for a loan of SLL 15,200,000 in order to solve their most immediate financial needs. And at the end of each month, they can easily repay the loan using their monthly salaries. It is their school’s bursar who is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayments on their behalf.

Agnes is the featured leader of this group. Agnes is 42 years old, and is married to a school teacher. The couple have two children who are attending school. Agnes has been a school teacher for 29 years now.
