Rithy's Group's story

Living in a wooden house with his family members in a rural village in the Phnom Proek district, Rithy is 29 years old and married with two children. They are still in school. He and his wife earn a living through planting corn and cassava. Having been in this business for six years, he manages to earn about 19,000 KHR per day and can save about 10,000 KHR each day for future needs.

Rithy’s group consists of three members and they are just with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, this cycle. Now he is leading his group to apply for a loan of 2,000,000 KHR each. As the leader, he is going to use his portion to buy fertilizer and pesticides for his farmland. He hopes to increase his crop yields and earn more income to improve his standard of living.
