A loan of $700 helped to buy fertilizers, compost and seeds to grow corn in a 14,000 m2 piece of land.

José Marío's story

José is 34 years old, married and has two children. He has worked in agriculture since he was a kid, together with his siblings. Since their father abandoned them, they had to work in order to support their family. When he was 13, he worked in a bus, collecting the fare. When he was 23, he started working in agriculture, and when he turned 24, he got married and had two children. He buys the agricultural supplies in a city located six kilometers from his house, so he has to pay to transport them back home.

José is requesting a loan to Fundación Campo to buy fertilizers, compost and seeds in order to grow corn in a 14,000 m2 [150,000 ft2] piece of land. With the loan, he hopes to improve his family’s quality of life. With a better income, he will be able to buy a piece of land and build a house there.
