A loan of $900 helped to buy merchandise to stock her shop.

Mayerli Sugey's story

Mayerli, 33, is married and has a five-year-old son. She’s from Managua, a place located in the central part of the country. Mayerli is noted for being hardworking and responsible with a strong wish for self-improvement. In her free time she likes to enjoy the company of her family in leisure activities like going to the movies or to the park. Unfortunately, she was unable to go to university due to lack of economic resources and she had to start working at a young age.

Thanks to her effort and drive to get ahead she has an economic activity selling assorted clothes like pants, blouses, shorts, skirts, camisoles, dresses, t-shirts, underwear, bed linen sets, towels, etc. She spends about 10 hours daily in her business selling her wares in a specific place in town.

The object of the loan is to invest in working capital and to stock her shop with the purchase of products to sell so that in the not too distant future her income will improve. Mayerli thanks Kiva lenders for the support they offer people of scarce resources and to poor countries like Nicaragua so that they can have a dignified way to earn a living.
