A loan of $500 helped to buy soil amendments, herbicide, pesticide, and insecticide.

Oscar Armando's story

Oscar is well known for being honest and hardworking. He lives with his wife and three-year-old child.

He makes a living in farming activities such as corn, sorghum, and beans. He has to pay for labor to do this work. He inherited this trade from his father and has done it for eight years. The problem he has is the distance to where he works.

The loan he needs will allow him to buy six quintals of soil amendments, herbicide, pesticide, and insecticide to fertilize one manzana of planted corn.

This investment will help his harvest be free of pests because of the fertilizer he'll use. He'll also increase his income. The risk is that it could be a plentiful winter or there could be little rain, which affects the crop.

His dream is to increase his harvest and his profits to have a better quality of life and a better future for his children.
