A loan of $525 helped a member to purchase fertilizer for her cultivated land.

Sreynouch's Group's story

Originally from a village of the Ou Reang Ov district where farming is a common way to make a living, Sreynouch is a 29-year-old mother of three dependent children who are still in school. Rice farming and cassava growing are the main source of the family’s income and she and her husband have been doing this for several years. They can earn about 25,000KHR per day to support the family’s needs.

Sreynouch has joined Kiva’s partner VisionFund and nowshe is leading her group to ask for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to purchase fertilizer for her cultivated land and a portion to spend on labor. Sreynouch hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her family’s income so as to improve their standard of living.
