A loan of $550 helped to buy fertilizers for her coffee crop.

Nidia Maribel's story

Nidia is an entrepreneurial, striving young woman with a lot of energy. She is 30 years old, married and responsible for 2 children, the older of whom is in kindergarten. She completed her primary education as she was able to study thanks to her parents' efforts. She is a housewife part-time and she works part-time in agriculture, supporting her husband with the various activities that are done to cultivate coffee. The land that she works on together with her husband was acquired thanks to a family inheritance, and their other piece of land was acquired with great care and sacrifice over a long period of hard work, even though it's located 20 minutes from their home. She gets there by motorcycle and sometimes on foot.

Nidia is currently asking for help to buy fertilizers for her coffee crop, as in this manner she will be able to improve her crop and she will avoid its contamination by the stem rust disease that damages and destroys coffee crops entirely if affected.

Her goal is to be able to pay off her loan so that she will be able to keep working and keep improving her crop. Her dream, like every mother with a family, is to give her children a better education so that they will have better opportunities for employment, be entrepreneurial people, and some day be able to have their own business and improve their mode and quality of life.
