Lilia's story

Fifty-five year old Lilia is married and has three adult children. They still live with her, in her own home. Lilia's work is making clothing items for men, women and children. She takes on orders to make clothing items items for her customers. She mainly receives order for women's underwear but she also makes other items, including, often, clothing that she herself has designed. Given her creativity she can sell these quite quickly. Lilia has been doing this work for over 22 years and she has always worked alone. She also tells us that she has never received any complaints from her customers. What Lilia likes about her work is that she can express herself through her clothing items and is inspired to make them. Given how well she can create these clothes she has become one of the best seamstresses in town. Lilia hopes to build a much bigger workshop very soon and to have a space to sell her creations. On this occasion she is applying for a loan of 1000 Nuevo Soles and is grateful for this opportunity and the trust that is being put in her with this loan. She also promises to make her monthly repayments on time.

With this loan, Lilia will buy sewing supplies such as material, thread and elastic.
