A loan of $925 helped a member to buy farm inputs.

Wassa Ii Group's story

The 10 members of the WASSA II group are married. On average, they are 32 years old and have 2 children. They all live in traditional families in SANZANA, a village in the 3rd administrative region of Mali (SIKASSO).

They are collaborating with the microfinance organization Soro Yiriwaso in order to be successful with their agricultural activities during the rainy season. This is their fourth farming loan with the organization and all of their previous loans were reimbursed.

They grow peanuts, and KOROTOUMOU is standing second from the right. With her loan, she would like to buy farm inputs to maintain 0.25 hectares of land. After the harvest, their products are sold in the village to a clientele composed of men and women.

She would like to earn a monthly profit of 40,000 FCFA per loan. These profits will allow her to repay her loan and to reinvest in her business.
