In this Group: Caro, Rosemond, Elizabeth, Agnes
Caro, Rosemond, Elizabeth and Agnes are the members in this group. They sell provisions, do hairdressing, sell footwear and sell soft drinks respectively. They reside in the Dansoman community. They have been together from January, 2012 to date.

Caro is a 39-year-old provision seller (milk, Milo, sugar, toffees, rice, and biscuits) who is married to Jonas, a 48-year-old driver. They are blessed with two children, both in school. Caro has been with ID Ghana for the past year and is doing very well with her business.

She has been doing this business for eight years now. She works from Mondays through Saturdays. Without ID Ghana’s training on savings she would not have made it this far. This is her 3rd loan and she needs GHS 1,200 to buy more provisions to sell to her customers.

The group members need a total amount of GHS 3,300 to buy more goods to sell to their customers in the community.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
