Khon, a 39-year-old mother of five living in a public gathering area of Prey Chor district, Kompong Cham province, is a farmer who grows rice on a parcel of land close to her house, earning a daily net income of USD 5.00 per day.
New to the HKL institution, Khon is requesting her first loan to buy a motorcycle so her husband can start a transportation service. She is most thankful to Kiva lenders for making it possible for her to satisfy her family’s needs.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
