Juana is one of the members of the Group Dios Verdadero 1, 2 & 3 (True God). This group is located in the city of San Pedro de Macoris. Juana sells silver and gold jewelry. This is the 12th loan she has requested from Esperanza, and she is planning to purchase more jewelry and clothes to expand her business inventory.

She is very excited about these loans. They made it possible for her to start a business almost six years ago, and she is still running it. She continues to expand her sales into more products and clients. Juana tells us that her challenge is to have a sustainable business, to be able to provide for her four children, and to help her long-term partner with extra income. Her business profits will be used to reinvest in her business. She thanks all of you for your support.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
