Rosa's story

Rosa is 67 years old and is very hardworking, kind and friendly. She is married and lives with her husband in their own house. Rosa works selling homemade pastries and desserts such as rosquitas (a Peruvian pastry with anise and sesame), different kinds of bread, and suspiro limeño (a Peruvian pastry made from dulce de leche and meringue), among others. Each day she sets up her stall in front of a hospital in her city. She makes all of her products in her home, where she has an artisanal oven. Sometimes her sales are very good and she sells all that she has to offer that day. She started this business 20 years ago, and thanks to it she has been able to provide her children with a good education. She says her business is quite profitable and provides her with a steady flow of income. She also says she decided to start her business thinking of the welfare of her family and to help her husband with household expenses.

Now Rosa would like a larger stall from which she could offer a larger quantity of her delicious products. She is requesting 2000 PEN to buy ingredients she needs to make her pastries such as flour, sugar, yeast, milk, eggs and oil. She says she is very happy to know that she has financial support to continue with her business plan.
