Saumu is a married mother of two children, who attends school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is school fees.
For the past three years, she has operated a clothes and shoes selling business and her clients are ladies,she sells at the market to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of stiff competition in her business.
With the loan that she is requesting of Kes 100,000 she wants to purchase bales of clothes and shoes for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
