A loan of $1,150 helped to buy fabric, elastic, lace and other products.

Lina's story

47-year-old Lina is a kind, friendly woman. She is the mother of three children, who are 24, 21 and 16 years old, and her children live with her in her own home. Lina's business is designing and making clothing. She also repairs clothing that her customers bring to her, restoring them to a perfect condition. Lina has a small workshop in her home and she has been doing this work for 18 years. It has allowed her to feed her family and provide her children with a good education. Lina works alone and is very happy because her business is going well even though her number of customers decreases at certain times of year.

When she started sewing for a living, Lina experienced a number of problems stemming from a lack of experience such as inaccurately cutting her fabric or not picking the right fabric for each garment. However, she learned from experience and also from the training that she sought out and received to improve her skills.

On this occasion, Lina is requesting a loan for 3,000 soles. She is very grateful to be receiving this financial support and pledges to make her repayments on time. She will use the sum she has requested to buy materials so that she can continue working. She will buy elastic, fabric, buttons, patches, lace, colored threads and other products.
