A loan of $675 helped to buy women's clothing, glasses, plates, small fans, perfume, and bedding.

Maria Dolores's story

María, 46, lives in Managua and is the mother of four children.

She owns a small store where she sells a variety of merchandise: cosmetics, clothing, costume jewelry, and food products. She started her business eight years ago when she sold CDs. Little by little she saved and managed to set up her mini-store. She sells on cash and credit, going out to sell to steady customers she has had since she started her first business.

Now that the Mother's Day season is approaching and sales are very good, she wants to buy women's clothing, glasses, plates, small fans, perfume, and bedding.

One of her plans is to add basic grains, family consumption products that her customers have requested.
