A loan of $3,100 helped a member to buy supplies to make soft drinks.

Los Amigos Group's story

Luisa, who is 23 and the mother of three children of 2, 4 and 6, sells various soft drinks, and occasionally food, from her stall in the Cota Cota district of La Paz. This will be her first loan cycle with the institution and she plans to use it to buy various supplies for making soft drinks (sugar, natural fruit and fruit essences etc.), and to offer a variety of goods to her customers. She is applying for the loan because she lacks cash to buy the supplies she needs. Luisa intends to use the profits to continue to expand her business and, consequently, boost her income. Her ambition, as far as her business is concerned, is to open a restaurant so that she can serve her customers better. Luisa is a very hardworking person who is delighted to have been provided with this opportunity, because this business is her sole means of supporting herself.
