A loan of $4,000 helped a member to buy cattle to butcher and sell and groceries to resell.

Munyengeri's Group's story

Greetings from Zimbabwe! This is 35-year-old Chari from Masvingo. She is married with two children, both attending school. Chari runs a retail business selling meat, groceries and clothes. The business has been in operation for 13 years. She says the main challenge being faced is the high transport costs to ferry cattle to the abattoir for slaughtering. Chari has requested a loan of $1,000 to buy cattle for stocking her butchery and groceries to resell. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will enable her to improve the welfare of her family. In the future, Chari plans to build her own house from the proceeds generated by the business.
