Thomas's story

Thomas is a trader and was born in Emachinga Village in Matungu district in Bungoma County. He is married with children. Thomas has been involved in business for five years, and he wants to own a motorcycle to support the community health work in his community. Thomas is to be linked with a Community Health Worker (CHW) working in Bungoma and will support the CHW by providing transport on set days. This will give the much-needed capacity to the CHW to be able to reach many more families during counseling appointments and health visits. Thomas hopes to encourage and recruit other members of his group to join in supporting community health outreach programs in his community. Thomas will also use the income generated from his motorcycle business to support his family and expand his business. Thomas hopes to to support more CHW volunteers in his community by encouraging them to save money and join in a group to buy motorcycles for CHW work and livelihood support.
