A loan of $600 helped to buy undergarments, dress clothes, silver jewelry, steel, and bedding.

Sandra Mercedes's story

Sandra, age 52, is originally from León but has lived in Managua for 28 years. She is married and the mother of three children. Her youngest daughter is 13 years old and still under her care, while the other two children live independently.

Sandra sells used clothing and silver jewelry. She started selling silver jewelry when she was 40. Afterwards, a friend suggested that she should also sell new and used clothing. Sandra sells perfumes on a seasonal basis. Over time, she gradually built up the capital to buy more merchandise. She currently sells clothes and silver jewelry, but she also sells food on the weekends so that she can support her family.

Sandra is requesting a loan so that she can buy undergarments, dress clothes, silver jewelry, steel, and bedding. She plans to sell during the eve of Mother’s Day when her sales increase, so she wants to take advantage of this opportunity in order to earn a good income. One of her goals is to open a clothing store in her house.
