A loan of $1,000 helped buy banana plants and pay for a tractor to prepare the ground.

Miguel Ángel's story

45-year old Miguel is married and has five children aged 19, 17, 14, 12, and 9. He has earned his living for the last twenty years growing corn and beans; before that he was part of a group in the war.

The loan that Miguel is seeking from Fundación Campo is to buy banana plants and pay for a tractor which he will use to prepare the ground and plant 2,700 banana plants in 7,000 m2. They will be ready to harvest next year. Without this money Miguel will not be able to do this work as he doesn’t have enough money of his own. He is very eager to do this but needs the necessary financing so he will have an income to feed his family.

He plans to plant 14,000 m2, as the government provided him with a watering system which he has already had installed.
