A loan of $950 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Alfredo's story

Alfredo, 52, is a responsible man who lives with his wife and children in the house they inherited from his parents. For 30 years he has been working in agriculture and growing different kinds of food such as lima beans, potatoes, peas and other vegetables. "I grow almost everything.", he claims. He is thrilled to see that his crops command a very good price among the merchants in the town. Alfredo has quite a large plantation that he inherited from his parents who taught him everything he knows. He says he must invest between 7,000 and 10,000 PEN to begin planting, and it is a little difficult to come up with so much capital because agriculture is his ownly source of income.

Now he wants to increase his profits to earn more, so the only way to do that is by planting more crops. He takes advantage of his work to raise sheep and cattle that he later sells to butchers. This is his second Kiva loan and he is very grateful for the financial support. He is committed to paying it back on time.

The loan in the amount of 2,500 PEN will be used to buy organic fertilizer for his crops.
