A loan of $1,525 helped a member to buy hair color, scissors and a table.

Amigas Unidas Group's story

The “Amigas Unidas” (United Girlfriends) communal bank is composed of five, charismatic women who as time has passed have been improving their businesses aiming at improving the quality of life of their families. Ydelvina, 33, is separated and has two minor children (3 and 5). Ydelvina started working in a barber shop and with the skills she learned and the drive to improve she decided to open her own business. She currently owns a beauty salon where she provides haircuts, manicure and hair styling, among other services. Her greatest wish is to own a house. She will use the requested loan to buy hair color, scissors and a table to tend from. Ydelvina is third from the left wearing a pink shirt and blue pants. The “Amigas Unidas” group is grateful for the granted loan.
