A loan of $575 helped to buy clay and wood to make bricks.

Milena's story

Milena is 32 years old and is a hardworking woman. She lives with her parents and seven siblings, who she supports in her parents home, where she has lived since she was young. She is single, but she doesn't mind, because she helps her siblings and she betters herself every day, “that's the most important thing”, she says. She studied education in a well-known University, which is where she obtained all the experience she needs to develop her career. She now works in an education project, for which she is the regional supervisor. She is responsible for ensuring the literacy of the elderly and adults who never finished their studies. She really enjoys this worthy mission and she is happy to help people to better themselves. She also works making bricks, with her siblings they make 29 thousand per week on average. She can't dedicate all of her time to this, which is why she doesn't produce many. But she is now thinking of hiring local workers to make more bricks. This is her fourth loan with Kiva, and she is grateful for the support of everyone, since she will secure the loan she needs to achieve her goals. She is committed to making her loan repayments on time Milena will invest the 1500 soles in buying clay and wood to make bricks.
